A practice
years in the making.
F for Farewells is a new brand. The preparation, experience and questions behind it began much earlier.
Two paths.
A shared foundation.
Kit and Kevin share a professional foundation in Life-Cycle Celebrancy. Their work involves writing ceremonies, guiding participation and attending to how families experience an occasion.
Their paths into end-of-life work developed differently. Kevin undertook funeral celebrancy training and has officiated human funerals and Celebration of Life ceremonies. Kit pursued further education in pet funeral care and pet bereavement.
F for Farewells brings those disciplines into a dedicated companion animal farewell and remembrance practice.
Kit Chan
Kit’s original Life-Cycle Celebrant training focused on weddings. Her subsequent pet funeral care and bereavement studies developed her interest in how ceremonies can acknowledge relationships with animals.
Her own experience of animal loss also informs the questions she brings to this work. The Journal offers a place for personal reflections, without asking other families to understand grief in the same way.
Kevin Leung
Kevin’s celebrancy background includes wedding and funeral training, alongside practical experience leading human funerals and Celebration of Life ceremonies.
He brings that experience of preparing and leading end-of-life ceremonies to this new practice. It is a professional foundation, rather than a claim of an established pet funeral caseload.
Personal experience.
Professional preparation.
Companion animal loss has shaped the founders’ understanding of farewell, including Kit’s experience with Fi Chai. It sits alongside their training and ceremony work, rather than being the sole origin of the practice.
Kit and Kevin are also the founders behind Vancity Officiant. That work provides experience in ceremony writing, public speaking and working with families. F for Farewells has a separate purpose and identity.

Remembrance beyond private ceremonies
The founders’ involvement in Wangwang Memorial Bench Vancouver, associated with Pawfect Witness™, is another expression of their interest in animal remembrance.
The bench is not a F for Farewells service or facility. It was established through Pawfect Witness™ and the City of Richmond commemorative bench program. The memorial plaque is expected to be installed in November 2026.
